Even More Snow White Costumes!

Who didn't want to be Snow White growing up? Well, except for my brother of course.

Snow White came out in 1937, and it is still watched by new generations today. I really don't think Walt Disney had a clue it would be so popular close to eighty years in the future! In addition it is no wonder that Cosplayers find this character so appealing. She is the princess we all wanted to be growing up, and at comi-con's we get the chance to be one for a little while.

Over the years there have been many critics of this Disney Princess. Roger Ebert called her "a bit of a bore"(Link). However, that little bore is in the top 100 movies of all time, as well as winning a special Oscar. So take that! I don't care what anyone says. It is a innocent story, and it should not be analyzed with adult jaded opinions. Who wants a harsh reality Snow White at 5 years old? Here is a clip from this children's classic, kind of bring back memories for me.

Tifa Lockhart Cosplay and Costumes

Cosplay of one of the strongest female characters in gaming history!

Cosplayer's usually want to portray a character that not only they like, but wish to also emulate. Tifa Lockhart is one of those characters that any woman would be happy to be like. What isn't there to like about this Final Fantasy VII heroine? She's caring to those in need, loyal to her fellow team members (AVALANCHE), has leadership ability, can handle her liquor, one of the sexiest women in video game history, and knows how to clear the room using nothing but her fists. Tifa is the epitome of the modern strong woman, and no wonder so many cosplayers are attracted into playing this great character.

One of the first things one will notice from all the games she has appeared in is that she is one of the sexiest characters there is. The only video game character that can come close to her is none other that of Lara Croft herself. When you stand only 5.4 and have the measurements of 36-24-35 inches, Marilyn Monroe would have a tough time competing with this beauty. To start off here are some cosplayers that want to show the sexy side of Tifa, and not much the fighting warrior monk Tifa.

Don't get me wrong, there is much more to the character Tifa. In FF XII she was voted as the commander in the absence of Cloud. She owns a bar, being married to moody and distant Cloud while also adopting orphans. For any woman that is a lot to handle! She has to be tough, and trust me she is. Just take a look at how she is portrayed in the outfits she wore in Advent Children.

For those wondering on how strong Tifa is, here is a fight scene from Advent Children. She surprisingly losses the fight with Loz, but it's still a great scene.

Tifa has always ranked high as both one of the best overall characters as well as on of the sexiest in video game history. In 1997 she was voted as "Hottest Game Babe" of the year, and has always been in the top ten since. Tifa's creators at Square Enix should recognize her appeal, and make a solo game just for her. Maybe on where she saves Cloud? Whether that happens, or is just wishful thinking (more likely the latter), cosplayers will continue to portray the Tifa that they want to be for a long long time.

Snow White Cosplay

A sexy, smart, and even gun toting Snow White!

Every girl growing up has always loved Snow White. The adventure of her leaving her home, meeting the famous (or infamous) seven dwarfs, and being rescued by her prince. No wonder this is a Disney classic! In this post we will see many different versions of our favorite Disney Princess. Not just the demure one of the movies, but the sexy and butt kicking versions of modern costume tastes.






First up is this classical interpretation of Snow White by a french cosplayer. Since 2010 she has created some beautiful visions of anime and classical characters. To see more of her work, check out her deviant art page here.

Keeping with the international appeal of this character, we have the Japanese version of the princess below.

 

One thing that has definitely changed is how many women want to portray Snow White as a strong character instead of the classical demure one. Even Universal Pictures jumped on that bandwagon and produced the forgettable film "Snow White and the Huntsman" starring Kristen Stewart. I don't mind the retelling of the story to have a stronger character, but the film could have been much better. It wasn't the worst film, but it deserves the 53% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Below are some other interpretations that no movie has been made of yet.
